Occasions Magazine is a high-end events magazine in the metro-Atlanta area showcasing venues, caterers, DJs, décor, photographers, videographers, dress shops…you name it they have it.  The listed events range from weddings to corporate events.  Every quarter they roll out with a new magazine including the main event – a stylized event for a big photoshoot.  Sometimes it’s a big shoot…sometimes its small.  This time it was big.  We got a phone call to create a behind the scenes video of the inner workings of the shoot as well as whatever cool stylized shots we could come up with.

The venue was 200 Peachtree (the old Macy’s store in downtown Atlanta) that was brought back to life for all kinds of events.  With hair dressers, makeup artists, designers with dresses, three models, two amazing photographers and one big design team from “A Legendary Event” including Tony Conway himself, we were pretty excited to jump into the mix of creativity and capture the spirit of the shoot.  So we grabbed an HVX200 on a tripod and put the other one on the trusty jib.  The shots that we were able to get with the jib were absolutely stunning.  It gave us the ability to get vantage points that the ordinary person or camera would not be able to get giving us an incredibly beautiful new perspective.  It definitely was the perfect tool to give us a posh and free flowing look and feel that we were looking for.
