A Mercedes service department by day, a toy shop by night?  This was the concept that RBM Mercedes brought to Optimum Productions when they asked us to jump start their Toys for Tots campaign, as a partner who could offer our experience with video production.  The Mercedes dealership had also partnered with the Marine Corps Reserve.  Mercedes would serve as a toy drop-off location for unwrapped toys and offer incentives for customers to donate new bicycles.  In RBM’s impressively clean facility, we met fantastic employees who provided everything we needed to execute a quality product.  The Atlanta video production moved quickly and was fun to shoot.

The video storyline shows the efficient workings of the Mercedes service department in Alpharetta.  As the regular business day ends and night falls, the garage door comes down.  Out of the darkness, a lone figure steps forward.  A toy soldier?  Better yet, a real soldier!  A Marine Corp Reserve officer, looking sharp in full dress uniform.  A moment of silence builds anticipation, as a cheerful Christmas tune kicks in and the garage door re-opens to reveal the activity inside.  Our wondering eyes behold the hustle and bustle of a Santa’s workshop, but in place of elves we see mechanics beaming as they gleefully take a turn on a child’s bicycle and busily prepare more bikes for good boys and girls.

This fun story unfolds on video in a matter of  one minute, twenty-nine seconds.  RBM was pleased with the video production and expressed interest in collaborating on future projects.  We enjoyed the shoot, which occured in the midst of a very busy holiday season.  Check out the video below and experience some of the anticipation you felt as a kid at Christmas time.
